Bloom lets you follow your child's day at the nursery: reports, photos, announcements, messages and fees, all in one app. Your nursery creates your account and invites you, so you do not need to sign up.
The app has five tabs at the bottom: Fees, Gallery, Timeline, Messages and More.
1. Getting started
First time: sign in with your invitation
Your nursery gives you a code (usually by WhatsApp or a message). You use it together with your own mobile number.
- Open the Bloom app and tap I have an invite.
- Enter your own mobile number (the one you gave the nursery) and the verification code the nursery sent you.
- Tap Verify.
- Read the Guardian Privacy Policy, tick the box to accept it, and tap Continue.
If the code does not work, it may have expired or been typed wrongly. Ask your nursery to send you a new one.
Next times: log in
- Tap Login.
- Enter your email or phone number and tap Continue.
- Bloom sends a 6-digit code to your email. Enter it and tap Verify.
There is no password. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder or tap Resend code.
Give consent for your child's data
Before the nursery can record attendance, daily reports and assessments for your child, you need to give your consent. If it is needed, a card on the Timeline says Child data consent needed.
- Tap Review on the card.
- Under I consent for:, tick your child (or children).
- Type your full name under Type your full legal name to sign.
- Tap Confirm.
You can see or withdraw your consent at any time: Settings > Child data consent. Open your child's card and tap Grant consent or Withdraw consent. Withdrawing does not delete anything already recorded. It stops new attendance, reports and assessments from being added for your child, and the nursery's staff then see your child's name as initials only. If your nursery does not require consent, the card says so.
2. Timeline: your child's day
The Timeline is the first screen you see. It works like a journal for your child, one day at a time, with the newest day first. Scroll down to see earlier days.
At the top you see a greeting and your photo. Tap your photo to open Settings.
For each day the journal can show:
- Mood and a note from your child's teacher.
- Moments: photos from the classroom that day. Tap a photo to open it full screen.
- Academics today and Activities today: what your child learned and did. Tap View details for the full story, including Got homework when there is homework.
- Meals and Daily Essentials: what your child ate, naps, diapers or bathroom visits, bottle feeds and garden time. The items shown depend on your child's age group.
If you have more than one child, tap your child's name at the top of the journal to switch to another child.
If a day has no report yet, you will see No reports or moments yet.
3. Photos: Gallery
The Gallery tab shows photos from your child's classroom.
- Open the Gallery tab.
- To look at a certain period, tap Duration, choose a Start date and an End date, and tap Apply. Tap Reset to clear it.
- Tap a photo to open it full screen. Swipe left or right to move between photos.
- In the full-screen view you can like a photo and save it to your phone.
You only see photos from your own child's classroom.
4. More: everything else about your child
Open the More tab for these tiles:
Your Child profile
Shows your child's Basic information, Guardians, emergency contact, Authorized pickups and allergies, exactly as the nursery has saved them. You cannot edit them in the app. If something is wrong, ask the nursery to change it.
Announcements
News from the nursery. New ones are marked NEW.
- Tap Announcements, then tap an announcement (or View details).
- Read the message and look at the photo, if there is one.
- If comments are allowed, type your comment under Add comment: and tap Send. Comments can be seen by the nursery and by other parents who can see the announcement.
Assessment Reports
Your child's progress reports, written by the teachers. Tap Assessment Reports to see the list, then tap a report to read it. Reports appear only after the teacher publishes them. You can write a comment on a report, and the teacher can reply.
Academics & Activities
The full list of what your child learned and did, day by day, with homework and the teacher's notes. It shows the same information as the cards on the Timeline.
Schedule
The daily timetable of your child's classroom: each activity with its time and teacher. It is read only. If you cannot see the Schedule tile, your nursery has chosen not to share it.
5. Messages
The Messages tab is for one-to-one chats with the nursery.
- Open the Messages tab and tap New chat.
- Under Select person, choose who you want to write to, then tap Start a chat. You can write to the nursery's Owner or Director, and to your child's teacher or supervisor.
- Type your message under Type a message... and tap the send button.
- To send photos, tap the paperclip button and choose up to 5 photos. They are deleted automatically 30 days after they are sent. The text stays.
You will get a notification when someone writes to you. Open the chat from the Messages list at any time.
6. Fees
The Fees tab shows what you owe the nursery.
- The top card shows the Total fees amount and when the next payment is due.
- Fees details lists each invoice for each child, with its status (for example Pending). Tap an invoice to see the details.
- When nothing is due, you see You're all caught up!
Bloom shows your fees, but you do not pay inside the app. Pay the nursery in the way it has told you (for example by bank transfer or at the nursery). The nursery marks the invoice as paid.
7. Notifications
Bloom sends notifications for new messages, announcements, reports, and when your child is checked in or out.
- To read your notifications, tap your photo at the top of the Timeline to open Settings, then tap the bell icon at the top.
- Tap Mark all as read to clear them.
- To choose which ones you receive, go to Settings > Notification settings, and switch Messages, Announcements, Reports or Attendance on or off.
If your phone's own settings have notifications turned off for Bloom, you will not get any alerts until you turn them on in the phone's settings.
8. Your account
Open Settings by tapping your photo at the top of the Timeline.
- Account details: see your name, email, mobile number and role, and change your profile photo (tap Edit photo).
- Language: choose English, العربية or العربية المصرية and tap Save. The app switches immediately, including the reading direction.
- Notification settings: see section 7.
- Child data consent: see section 1.
- Logout: signs you out of this phone.
Delete your account
You can delete your own account at any time.
- Go to Settings > Account details and tap Delete account.
- Read the explanation and confirm. Your account is scheduled for deletion in 30 days.
- During those 30 days you cannot use the app. When you open it, you see a screen about your scheduled deletion. If you change your mind, tap Cancel deletion and your account comes back right away.
- After 30 days your profile is anonymized and your login stops working.
Deleting your account does not delete your child's record at the nursery. If you are the only registered guardian of a child who is still enrolled, you cannot delete your account until another guardian is added, so that a child is never left without a guardian on record.
9. Help
I cannot log in. Check that you typed the same email or phone the nursery has for you. Ask for a new code with Resend code, and check your spam folder. A code works for a limited time. If you still cannot log in, ask your nursery to check your access.
My invitation code does not work. It may have expired. Ask the nursery to send a new one.
I see "No children found on this account yet." Your nursery has not linked your child to your account yet. Ask them to check.
I cannot see the Schedule or some photos. The nursery decides what is shared with parents. Ask them.
Something in my child's profile is wrong. Ask the nursery to correct it. Parents cannot edit it in the app.
